Much has changed in the late 21st century. The United States Federal Government has taken on a more nationalistic tone. A popular independence movement in California wants to break away, sparking warring protests, civil unrest, and fierce partisan engagements between the Federal Unionists and Californian Bearists across the state. When Alex Fritz’s good friend Kevin was arrested in connection with a hostage bombing that he himself witnessed, he realizes with his girlfriend Angel Vernon that they cannot live their lives in isolationist bliss as the factions close in.

The Factions
Californian Bearists - These are the loyalists to the Bear Flag Revolt that led California to freedom. As the state nears the completion of its 246th year in the Union, this group will attempt to channel the spirit of 1776 as their image of the Federal Government as unjust will entice them to plant a new tree of liberty through secession and independence.
Federal Unionists - These are the people that still believed in the Perpetual Union, including the President himself. As the Feds attempt to install in America a new type of community throughout the country to inspire patriotism, the administration will implement policies to ensure national unity. Would this be the turning point?
You might think that you won’t have to choose a side and can just watch. But as Alex and the group will soon learn, you simply can’t avoid it.

The Technology
The Film - Films are flexible pieces of plastic with an embedded screen. Watch movies, schedule events, and it even tells you what’s on your mind and what you might want to do next through artificial intelligence.
The Headset - These compact earpieces serve as the brains of the Films. They take in audio from the outside world, play back media, take phone calls, and filter out noise if need be.
They are ubiquitous and everyone has a pair. Everyone’s Film and Headset combo are different though, some more important than others.
A full ride into the future.
Step into the new world of California in the year 2096. The philosophy of Natural Evolution means that this world is all derived from reasonable speculation. You could very well be living in the world of Blue Days one day.
