Project Arch

Project Arch delivers the experience normally associated with high-impact forms of media.

It's also the design drive that powers Project Two, and all projects henceforth.

You can already see Arch leaking out into the pure, simplistic design of Fool Me Twice.

This is a unified language that ties in with many forms of presence with Yellow Optic.

Stay tuned.

Early Release

Notice how I promised that a lot of things will come October and this time we are living now is a period of stasis?

Yeah, I know. When I get things done, I like to push it out ASAP for people to enjoy.

"Done" as in, proofread and checked for standards. Plenty have passed that stage.

I'm not saying everything now would be automatically pushed out earlier like a hard log. Stuff takes time to make-- Fool Me Twice needed sixteen months. I don't expect anything less for my second novel.

But hey, it's a good indicator.

I'll let you know when I launch more stuff.

Season Two

Second log post in a row I have to clarify something.

I want to talk Season Two a little today.

Season Two is an update to Fool Me Twice, and other major titles that will be cranked out. To truly understand what I'm saying, imagine every novel as an annual update to your smartphone line.

To be done with a novel then cast it away forever is a huge waste in my opinion. Characters are worth more than their stories and I want to make it so.

Season Two (and every number after that nomenclature) will feature new stories and backstories, new nooks and crannies, and all sorts of new, embedded secrets.

nd with Yellow Optic itself, it's all about the universe.

Number Two

I'm going to clear up something about the second novel-- No, it isn't a sequel to Fool Me Twice.

Kayla isn't going to be there.

Let's just say that this story is full of experimentation and adventure. Whether if that's metaphorical or literal is update for you to decide.

I think I'm settling into the new school year, so expect some speeding up from here on now. Let me just cheat for a bit: I think I'm going to finish all of October for Yellow Optic in September. It's crazy but there's a possibility.

elease dates won't change, though.

Roadmap for October

October 2 - Radical Rat

October 7-10 - One Short Per Day

October 13 - "Season Two" Discussion

October 20 - November Roadmap Unveil

Late October - Second Novel Preview

2-3 Luna Fanatic pieces would also be released throughout the month. Unrelated to the "One Short Per Day" event.

Above is the calendar for October. I'll adhere as closely to it as humanly possible, amongst my school things, but this should give you a little perception on what I'm doing. All while writing my second novel. Ho hum.

Take a look at October 20. I'm thinking of doing a roadmap announcement every month to let you know about future advancements. Ha, future.

Tease.

Speaking of teasers, the late October event is strictly a tease. No actual text would be shown, and details relating to its plot and characters would be scarce. But I'll let you in on something-- there will be a lot of black, you know, the opposite of white.

I do have to apologize for the splash-screen for Luna Fanatic and nothing else. I have yet to figure out what to put on there, but I have now. So it will be updated shortly.

Shorts are defined as 500-1000 word stories that could join an existing property as canon, or not and exists as a separate story.

elp, I'm off to attend some wedding. See you in a bit.

Jam-Packed October

Just a reminder: n02 and a plethora of projects will come to either fruition or near-fruition in October.

Remember, it's not exactly October 1. That's my birthday and I need a break.

But I'll tell you about it. Come back in October for the important updates.

But for stories, keep it locked in here.

I'll post. More. Ah.

Slow Speed Ahead

I'm a student, and the year started for me.

It went well so far. But I need to focus on upcoming projects that are slightly longer and will arch into the moonlight in the long run.

The site is basically complete. Whatever will be updated will be new work. I promise there will be many to come, but just don't expect them at the pace of which you have seen earlier.

It's not real time, and it's just my old stuff here so you can catch up with it. I already have a bunch of things I need to balance on top of my school stuff-- The Fanatic Project, n02, and a slurry of short, unconnected stories that give me a good feeling and you a good time.

Also, I'm planning an Amazon release for Fool Me Twice. Details later.

Pure Lunacy

Eagle-eyed people might notice a new section to the left of this log you're reading up on the navigation bar.

Well, I promised it earlier, so here it is. Currently, it is only a landing page, and the text will come soon.

My love for both the female leads in Fool Me Twice are 50/50-- I don't like one over the other. But hey, Kayla has an entire novel on her, so to balance this thing out, I'm going to have Luna star in, hopefully more than a dozen short stories to fill her in.

That doesn't mean Kayla will be absent entirely from the series with Luna, but this is a good universe-expanding thing I've been talking about a lot recently, and if all things goes well, serve as some quality filler material.

Yes, I know "quality filler" is a bit of an oxymoron, that's why I'm set on changing this. This is made with the same love I have when writing my novel.

e'll see what comes next.

Radical Design

Today marks a huge step in the design of Yellow Optic.

For the first time, the homepage has a fullscreen "splash" header. I'm a big proponent of the visuals matching the text, so the immersion carries through. In fact, that's what the big type of the homepage says-- Immersion.

A sleeker black bar replaces the cheap white for readability. White-on-black provides the greatest contrast levels, making it easier to spot exactly what you're looking for, and it also provides a better experience when you visit at night.

Text looks more streamlined and elegant. Every corner of each letter is examined to balance aesthetics and legibility.

Finally, this update opens the door for more immersive experiences-- for both the stories I've written and are writing.

hope you enjoy. :D

Imminent Navigation Bar Adjustments

Look at this garbage. It's all cluttered.

Hello again. I'm here to hopefully talk about that bar up there. Right now, "Articles" is its own separate directory at the very top of this site.

When I was planning this site, I originally planned to have a "Shorts" section where it includes the articles, some true short stories and spinoffs, and the unsorted crap.

But hey, I tried doing that, and while I was able to get a categorization header in the navbar, it isn't clear that it isn't a non-clickable element and it has the potential to be mistaken for a button.

ut hey, I'm working on it.

Email Changes

Just a nano-update: The footer has been updated with a new mailbox that, hopefully, I'll receive my potential emails in.

The previous one was to my quasi-personal/tech mailbox, but this one is for Yellow Optic.

Click the link a the bottom-right of the footer to write to the new mailbox. Don't worry, I read all emails the same way.

Thanks.

PS "Radical Rat Says Hello" is out. There will be more Radical Rat in the future, stay tuned. Click here to read.

Off and On

I'm detaching schedules now.

I still have plans but, I'm moving pieces around to push other stuff during the "off-season".

Maybe three days a week for the novel, then the two remaining I'll do some other stuff. Ya know, to keep things interesting.

No release dates will be affected by this small change.

ou will see more in the coming weeks.

Aqua-Colored Galaxies

While I have not named my second novel as there's still a bit of ways through it, the image of it comes to me.

This is such a weird thing to say.

Anyway, what I mean is, I want the cover of the second book to look like the first in design-- A very simplistic jacket with the title and my name along the lower thirds.

I've been listening to quite a number of electric tracks lately, and seeing that the book is set late-century.

There is a sky to look at.

S: The piece will be out Tuesday. Stay peeled.

n02 and More Projects

The second novel's manuscript will be done this October.

But while that happens, I need some filler material. Over the next few months I will be doing some shorts that cover a better range of topics, including satirical pieces and some commentary.

Sure, novels are fun, but those are long-term projects that unfortunately, also takes a while to be out. I want to do more of that "instant gratification" thing that I have done since I was a kid.

Let me also fill you in on something else - The Clash. This is another long-form project that will feature characters from both novels. I will update you on this as soon as the second novel becomes available in some way. It's still a long way.

Coming up in a few days is a work of satire. Enjoy.

Also, happy birthday, Kayla. You insufferable sweetheart.

Happy birthday, Kayla!

A butler dressed in black accompanied the birthday girl. And while the trip there will be short, she prepared for the worst.

This above line was going to be one of the sentences in Fool Me Twice before it took a happier turn.

Seriously. From midnight on August 12 until the midnight of the very next day, you can read the novel for free.
Just a way to celebrate her birthday.

And while you get none of the Club 27 experience, or even a small slice of cake, at least you'll walk away with a small consolation that you've just read the best novel ever written. Until the very next one I complete of course.

C̶l̶i̶c̶k̶ ̶h̶e̶r̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶g̶e̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶d̶o̶c̶u̶m̶e̶n̶t̶.̶  You can't save nor print it. Buy the actual book if you love it so much.

File self-destructs by August 13.

+1

Today, I'm introducing a blog.

hat's right. A log, as I call it. Before the letter "B" was shoved in randomly from the end of "web-log" for good measure.

Do not expect regular posts. Updates are irregular and thus I really can't give you a definitive schedule. On some days I might post two a day, sometimes none in a week.

But I will try to post as often as I can. Maybe, occasionally, some details from my personal life will leak and run into these snippets.

Also, these aren't supposed to be long, as it detracts from the "real" work I'm supposed to be doing.

Ha. As if I have any semblance of a work ethic.
