If This Site Comes Back Online

Hi.

If you can read this, then that means the site has come back online. Great.

I recently switched to another website builder, which is giving me all sorts of benefits compared to the old one. As with all transitions, I need to work on a few things before it's done.

I've decided to have it accessible first, while I put out new content and new stuff. Meanwhile, I'm reindexing my old content on here, and fixing some compatibility issues, so sit tight, it should be complete in a few days.

Check if the blue bar on the top has disappeared. If it has, it's done.

Don't worry, there will be plenty more of Yellow Optic to come in 2017, but let's make it start off right.

The Cross Between Two and Three

I'm here to talk about novel number three.

"But Optic! Your second novel isn't even out, why are you so egotistical as to immediately talk about the third?"

Actually, there is a bit of a conflict. The third novel will be completely free online. Yes. This will complete the Trifecta Universe. I'm thinking 21 days per chapter, and it will take over a year to complete. When the series is over, the third novel will be immediately available to purchase as a digital download.

But I'll start the third novel, before my second is even released. Sure, on my Mac it's coming after two, but it's not for you, so you have zero preparation.

Well, I'm here to announce that the second novel will also be available online for free. For a limited time. Just to prepare you.

So yeah. That's how Optic will operate in 2017. Online, free, available to all. Paperbacks? I'll talk, but I talked with some person, and well, this seems appealing to everyone involved.

Up Close With Discord

After much deliberation— of which consists of shouting insults at my own characters after a few beers— we have a Discord thing.

Yes.

Thats right. Discord is this chat thing. So you can talk to me face-to-face.

Or in this case, text-to-text. Just as good in my opinion.

Click this button within the next day or so (I'll update this with a perma invite link) to go and enjoy Optic on Discord.

Bai now.

Ring In The New Year

As in someone will have fireworks set off and it isn't for me.

Woo.

So 2017 is upon us. Let's review the year past and the one ahead. I think its name is 2017. Don't know, haven't looked at a calendar in eons.

June 21 is where I gave our copies of Fool Me Twice. The week after it's on retail shelves.

July 24 I was at the Book Fair promoting in, talked about the plot with my friend Calvin, and autographed copies.

yellowoptic.com went live 8/4. Posted a ton of stuff.

During the fall and winter season there is a ton of shorts up here.

I also teased Blue Days, Series 2, and Something Yellow and Circular, the latter of which is for testing purposes currently, but will launch soon.

So what's next?

Series 2 and Something Yellow and Circular launches in the Spring. It's one of those universe-expanding things I've worked on but never elaborated on.

Blue Days sometime in 2017. No idea when, will update if anyone passes me a memo with two numbers and a slash dividing it.

Shorts including— and this is exciting— Blue Days characters before the official release. Nothing too spoiler-y, but it's a good preview.

Of course Fool Me Twice will go on. I'll end the Vegas storyline by February, and the Series 2 treatment alongside the original storyline.

o there. More stuff for me to work on and you to enjoy in 2017. Happy yet?

Thirty-Six Hours In The Making

Yes, this Log post took 36 hours. Originally it was supposed to hit the day after Christmas, but here we are. Oh well.

Thank you, faulty server that hates me.

Anyway, there are some optimizations done across the board here. Subtle changes.

Also, I'm looking to merge the Style and About Me tabs, or at least place them in a section. I have zero idea.

So yeah. More stuff coming soon. Lack of caffeine in my system is killing me right now. Softly.

Blue Days

There is a single point of no return for everyone.

For them, it's the old morbid curiosity.

Alex Fritz and Kevin Sierra decided to go investigate after a power outage. Of course, this is the culmination of various unrests in the city. Initially it looks clear as day what is happening and what side everyone is on.

Yet over time as more and more realized their place and what they could take from it, it becomes blurrier and blurrier.

Alex's girlfriend Angel had to tend to her family, Kevin's close friend Irene is constantly on meds and needed some help.

Now imagine that support gone. Imagine them being left alone.

Imagine that they have completely lost direction.

Visit the Blue Days site.

New Navigation Bar Tab

EDIT Thank you editor for ruining my post with a blank slate. Commence the internal rage.

You might notice that we have a new tab up for Project Blue on the bar. So you can directly click on it and not having to go into Upcoming and potentially have your day ruined.

That's right, the excitement is right by your doorstep. Stay indoors and wait.

But it's here very soon.

Very, very soon. Anticipating the influx of human traffic.

Clarity

The Yellow Optic icon is now of a higher resolution.

I don't know why when I first started, it looked like an undercooked baked potato with hastily-applied mayo. It's much better now.

So that has been fixed.

PS - I know on mobile the Archives tab clashed with the Previous button that links you to the previous ten posts in Log. Don't know what happened there. Will try to fix soon.

But I'm aware of the issue.

Fixing Stuff

So I messed with the CSS editor of the site, which I previously have done to calibrate the yellows to Optic Yellow, and it screwed up all my text.

It's fixed now. Sorry about that.

Also, if you would consider this a "fix" by any stretch, I've redesigned the homepage. Now the Optic background occupies significantly less space. A white space that acts like a dry-erase board in case if I have links or stuff I really wanted to share.

And best of all, with it, I brought back the long-gone footer from within the front page. You can finally go direct from the home screen to a page you like. Ah.

With all these fixes are a re-calibration of text colors and minor details across the site. It's a bit overdue for fixes, but hey, at least I've done it.

It Might Make It

And that, kids, is how you use the word "it" in a sentence twice, with two different meanings.

Anyway, what am I talking about here?

Earlier, I had to say "all text" because of a chance that the graphic for Project Blue will not be made in time.

Now it might be.

don't know. But hey, speaking of the event, something something URL.

Inking Deals

No, not the book for the orangutan president, The Art of The Deal.

He didn't even write it.

Anyway, if you visited my DLC page you will see a credit for Athlos Design.

These are the people that helped make the graphics for my first book, and I love their work.

They will make graphics for my second novel as well. So yeah. Great.

More details later.

Blue Update

Oh, it's coming late December.

Well, the details late December, but this guy is all fired up about it.

The updated Project Blue site has a slightly different backdrop and more stuff to it, so check it out.

Currently I'm landing a few deals and, in late December, when the preview is out, I would be going publisher-hunting again.

This should be fun.

Yellow

Oh wow, two posts at once on the same day? The world is ending!

Like the election of that orange orangutan. Hip hip.

Anyway, this is a bit of a thing I'm doing where I'm physically testing things now.

Testing stuff that includes some graphics. Because this site is boring from the lack of them.

And maybe the logo as well-- One of my good friends made me a new logo for Optic, so give your best thanks to him (because he didn't ask for any payment for it), and if it goes well it will be adopted.

So check out the Something Yellow and Circular site here.
