New Feature Print

Actually not a new print. I lied. Hah, fits the theme somewhat.
This is the same banner that you have seen on the front page. I like it so much and you might want to have it as well.

So now it's on the DLC page. Go and grab it.
I painstakingly had them optimized for 5760 x 3600 pixels so future-proofing there.

The hugely-talented Malblitz will be helping to pump out more of this art in the future. Huge props.

Fruits of the Labor

Everyone is going to start seeing progress today.

Until now, it has been a vague, code-y messages really related to not much.

So something for you to see.

I believe that we're incredibly close to completion a flurry of content that is truly something I wanted done, in the quality I desire.

So I'll talk more over the next week about it.

Yellow Optic's second birthday

To celebrate this momentous occasion, I will be giving away copies of Blue Days.

Because, ya know, year three is coming up and-- what better way to celebrate than to give you a year two product?

No seriously, you can win a $3 Kindle novel.

I'll explain the contest this week and see how you could win a copy that way.

Because it's fun. And daring.

Sept 10

Eclipse Day

So the solar eclipse is upon us.

Yes.

Next week will be the unveiling of a few stories. I'm just taking today off to see it.

Luna's investigating who's exactly responsible, but everyone's fingers are on her.

She's getting Kayla to a field with a clear sky now.

More Nuts

Second chapter will be up soon.
Let's say I've been fighting a cold, got a new laptop--
And been exploring ideas.
Sometimes plots don't satisfy me. Either they go on the backburner or they get turned into something better, and refinement is the highlight here.

So aboard the Creation vessel I will be steering in the direction of a greater universe.
Annnd I think I'm done with mental vomiting.

Kayla's Little Feature

Finally you can catch Kayla in a high-quality print!

This sounds like a sales promo only if sales means no money at all.

Malblitz returns for yet another piece of art, and frankly, it looks stunning.

Grab it at the DLC page so you can hang Kayla and her frowned countenance next to your cheap little mattress.

I personally like it that way.

Two Down, Many More To Go

That's right.

Blue Days is on Amazon, and while I wait for it to process, let's have a bit of fun in the log.

This really is a new avenue for Yellow Optic. While I hoped to recreate that magic I had with Fool Me Twice, I'm always experimenting.

This thirteen-month expedition culminated in something I believe I will find profounding, and you will find enjoyable.

It's a reimagining of the long tradition of offering a vision into the future. I don't want to be merely a visitor: I want to live the future. I don't want things to be far-fetched, I want them to be real.

And when it's all said and done the core of it all is still Optic. It is still that familiar taste of butter on your tongue as you peruse through it.

When I said this is just the beginning like many a cliche-maker will do likewise, I meant it.

How can we take the future, and make it fun? How can we make seeing the truth not simply human-to-human? Future is designated with intention. The characters fledge it out.

Rediscover California.

Project Horizon

This is not some upcoming project.

This is something you can see right now.

That's right. There is a new header, but it won't be the only header. Several new headers will follow as the weeks go by just to make this more colorful.

The banners will be available as free DLC after Blue Days launches.

Huge thanks to Malblitz for creating them. You are truly awesome.

A Very Bad Combination

Let's see.

Me being overworked because of stuff not relating to Yellow Optic? Check.

Sick as a dog the past few weeks and still is? Check.

Busy getting Blue Days release-complete? Check.

BTS stuff handling? Check.

Starting my third novel? Check.

Theres your checklist. The cold has caught up with me again, and no, I'm not in Australia.

A Tip For Collaborators

It's that time of year again.

Actually, it was no time of year. But just a reflection on a very, very recent video done by one of my favorite content creators. This post is a response to that. So here's my full statement on paid collaborations.

Paid collaborations means that you are being paid to produce work for Yellow Optic that will be marketed under the Yellow Optic brand as an Optic work.

By allowing your work into a final product, be it in marketing, design, and/or communicative purposes, you forfeit your rights to full autonomy in the crediting on the work as a standalone product, in return for it to be recognized as a Yellow Optic creation, in this context being used as an umbrella term for the team fused together for the purposes of furthering the brand of the same time, and monetary compensation.

I, being the original creator of the stories, writing, and thus this post, retain after the compensation, the sole rights and thus actor, be it in a court of law, as a part of a joint venture, marketing, content enrichment, and all other Yellow Optic intents as the rights to the work have been forfeited as a result of receiving cash in direct relation with the security the full commercial rights, unilaterally, of your design and/or labor.

You still have unlimited and unbridled permission to promote it as part of your own work and/or include it as part of your artistic portfolio, as long as it is not commercial, as said rights have been given up from the changing hands of appropriate and agreed-upon exchange of a cash enticement.

I'm paying you because your work is truly outstanding and I deem it to be fully worth my time and potentially hundreds of others. In this action I am displaying absolutely zero intent to exploit you, since I am demonstrating that I put actual value in your contribution and used cash as part of my efforts to exhibit that. This applies only if you have not previously refused payment in return for your precious labor and efforts.

And of course, the crediting issue has been previously outlined, and I'm not going into that again.

Alternate Logo

Before you take off your hats in disgust that the current one will go away, because you hate change, stop.

This new logo isn't changing the old. The current one will be the current one still. There is still nothing wrong with that.

"So why change?" You hurled your voice at me in protest. "Why must you step on a legacy so clearly defined by the logo's design?"

You know, the answer is really simple. Say you're out and about in Orange County (spoilers), and you really, really want to look up to the skies (another spoiler), what do you do? You don't want a full square blocking your view, and you want to make sure it's Yellow Optic, not some racist-sounding variant.

So you will see this delightful logo by Sean King - I'll link to your Twitter for now, Sean. Don't kill me if that's not enough. - In many, many Optic advertising and marketing efforts. Why? Because one night in Orange County will suffice to explain.
